Power-to-X
Surplus electricity can be converted into storable and versatile gases using innovative technologies — a process known as Power-to-Gas. At the heart of this process is electrolysis, in which electricity is used to split water into hydrogen and oxygen. The resulting hydrogen can be used directly or further processed into methane.
Green Gas
When only renewable electricity from sources such as wind or solar power is used during electrolysis, the resulting product is referred to as RE gas (Renewable Energy Gas). This environmentally friendly gas can be fed directly into the public gas grid, serve as a feedstock for the production of other fuels, or even be further processed into liquid fuels.
